I am not entirely sure when XP Drops (Mythic will refer to these as "Bounty Quests" on the Herald and in the patch notes. I have also seen them referred to as XP turn-ins) were added to Dark Age of Camelot. The first mention of them I can find is in the 1.52 patch notes. XP Drops got a significant boost in 1.72 when delve information was added to the drops so it was easier to determine who wanted what drops and the level range you can turn them in. They also increased the experience reward for turning them in and scaled it up so that you get more experience depending on what level you are when you turn the drop in.
I generally prefer leveling off of hunting XP drop mobs rather then using the task dungeons because I can level with an ungrouped buffer and I can hunt in the open air against mobs that are weak to whatever my damage type is. You have to kill mobs for XP so why not kill ones that drop items you can turn in for more XP, right?
One of the biggest problems with hunting for XP drops is that the information on the drops is pretty weak in some areas. A lot of the information out there is based on pre-1.72 information which is largely inaccurate at least with regards to the levels you can turn in and the experience earned. Plus there are other inaccuracies as well as a decent number that I could find very little information on.
This page is my (and some very helpful others) attempt to correct these discrepancies. For each of the drops that I have obtained (or had obtained for me) I have posted the items delve information, at least one location of the mob that drops it and whatever notes I at least thought would be useful. All of these drops were obtained on Gaheris as thats where I predomanently spend my time and is the best place to conduct such a multi-realm project (for another multi-realm project thats MUCH better then this site will ever be, see DAOC-Trophy-Mobs.com). So the delves might be a little different for another server.
