The Wii launch seemed to go about as smooth as a new console launch could go. Besides a few cracked devices from Wii controllers flying out of people’s hands, the only issues seemed to have been random error codes coming up. This site has been and is continuing to compile a list of errors/error codes and the resolution to them which could come in handy. Over Thanksgiving, ymom182 let me play his Wii that he ended up waiting twelve hours to acquire thanks to his local Wallmart not putting them on sale until 7AM. In one round of bowling, I was able to bowl as well as I could in meatspace but unfortunately not as well as my cousin Jon who went from just being ok to almost professional bowling levels. After a few innings of baseball I had pitching pretty much down but still had timing issues when it came to batting, just like in meatspace! Jon unfortunately mastered batting quite early on. At least I beat him in tennis! |
Nintendo has also said that you need to be in shape (Gizmodo Referer) to play the Wii. The system certainly does encourage you to get off of the couch.

Wii Have a Problem… (VGCats Referer) is a blog documenting injuries and personal property loss from people and remotes getting out of hand.

And the ArsTechnica Review (digg Referer) has landed as I continue to use this post as my Wiilated information dumping ground.

Nintendo released Safety Information for Playing Wii (digg Referer) which boil down to use the wrist strap, don’t let go for the remote and make sure you have plenty of room.
