Super Mario Brothers Sound Blocks are an example of Japanese gashapon or capsule toy. Like other gashapon, the sound blocks are “random packed” so that you do not get to pick the model you get, fate decides for you. The three possible models are shown: Luigi or Fire Mario on a regular block or Mario on a question block. When you smack them on the head, they produce one of the traditional Super Mario Brothers sounds. The Super Mario Brothers Sound Blocks are available from Think Geek’s Japan Fan collection for $5 a piece.
