Given that my shower is less then 10′ away from my hot water heater and it takes less then 15 seconds for the warm water to reach my shower even in winter, this wouldn’t be helpful for me but I can see its purpose. Rather then wait in the shower for the hot water to arrive or turn the shower on and waste hot water while you are performing other tasks elsewhere, the ShowerStart automatically pauses a running shower once it gets warm. Once you return to the shower, simply flip the switch on the ShowerStart and resume the hot water flow and take your shower. The folks at ShowerStart LLC estimate that a family of three could save around $75 in hot water heating costs assuming they save one minute of water per shower. The ShowerStart is available from the manufacturer or R. E. Williams Contractor Inc. for $40. |

That’s pretty awesome, is the saver just the metallic part in between the head and the pipe?

Yessir, thats it. I used that image since I wasn’t sure that it would be clear where it went if I just had an image of the device itself.
