Phoronix reviewed Corsair’s Flash Survivor putting it through a few tests to see what it could survive. The test where they boiled water with the drive (pictured to the left) is clearly my favorite. Still, if I had a USB drive that I was give to review, I think I would have done some more tests. A sledge hammer clearly need to be employed instead of the puny hammer they used as well as an oven and a frezer/dry ice/liquid nitrogen or something to that effect. Corosive chemicals or some happy power tools would have also sold me on the devices durability. Oh well. If you are interested in purchasing your own Corsaif Survivor to torture or merely use you can get them from NewEgg with the 4GB model going for $60 and the 8GB drive selling for $150. |
