A few weeks ago, Ars Technica had a review of an interesting chair called the Trey Chair which also included an interview with the chair’s creator Jeff Jameson. Like all Ars Technica reviews, it is pretty good and the interview was a pleasant bonus. The chair itself is rather interesting. It was designed for college dorm rooms, and having been a resident of said rooms for four years, I can certainly appreciate the positive points of its design for use in confined living spaces. As you can see in the picture, the seat portion separates from the base which can then be used to hold a laptop, food and drinks, feet or even be used as another seat. With the two parts together, it passes as a normal office chair. The Trey Chair is available directly from the manufacturer in standard fabric colors of black, black marble, billiard, espresso, indigo, and maroon for $239; faux leather in black, gunmetal, lake, and crimson for $269; and in premium fabrics drizzle and wink for $299. |
