Environmental Graffiti posted the 17 Biggest Buddhas on Earth listing the various statues in increasing height ranging from 169 feet to the proposed 500 foot tall Maitreya Buddha that will be build in Uttar Pradesh, India. Pictured to the left is the Great Standing Maitreya Buddha which resides near Beipu at Emei Lake in Hsinchu County of Taiwan. The statue is 236 feet tall took was under construction from October 2002 to July 2006. |
