Ice Dozer Recap
![]() |
I originally bought the Ice Dozer shortly after I posted it with the full intention of reviewing it. Over the past two winters we have certainly had some frosty days, but no real ice storm that has required the full ice removal power the Ice Dozer is reported to deliver. Since we have had a couple of days with temperatures in excess of 80 degrees, I am guessing the ice threat is gone until next winter so I might as well post whatever I have. First here are some additional shots of the scraper that I took whil it was still in its packaging: left view, right view, front view, and top view. Innovation Factory (the creator of the Ice Dozer) has a good instruction page and I have a local copy of the Ice Dozer Manual. My observations after the break. |
Observations: When I first got the Ice Dozer it took some getting used to. Given all the sharp pointy teeth is has and how useless teeth are for mere frost, you have to get used to holding the Ice Dozer the right way and at the appropriate angle. Over the past couple of years, I have gotten skilled at scrapping my truck, but when I tried scrapping my housemates car a couple of days ago, give the height difference in our vehicles, it was like I had to relearn how to scrape with it. If you are only going to be dealing with frost, you will probably be equally served with a lesser scraper. With its bright yellow handle and size, I have never managed to misplace the Ice Dozer which is a problem I have had with past scrapers, so I guess that counts for something.
Since I left this off of my original post, I got the Ice Dozer from Herrington for $20 and its also available from other retailers for less including Auto Sport where the Ice Dozer can be had for $17.

There is now an IceDoze Plus (bb Gadgets Referer) which includes a brush on the top and sells for $20.
