Winning is Always Good, Right?

While I don’t typically watch NBA (only fivish months until college football season, hooray!), the situation that cropped up in the Western Conference. The LA Clippers played the Memphis Grizzlies. The winner would clinch the fifth seed and play the fourth seed Dallas Mavericks who would have the home court advantage against either team. The loser would get the sixth seed and face the third seed by virture of their top spot in the Northwest Division, the Denver Nuggets. Because the Nuggets would have a worse record then either the Clippers or the Grizzlies, the loser of the matchup would get home court advantage while the winner wouldn’t. As evidenced by the ESPN SportsCenter image to the left, the Clippers did get the covetted loser title producing this playoff picture. To the credit of both teams, they both actually played though both teams were resting most of their stars. |
