Zable’s New Field Update
![]() |
As previously posted here, The College of William & Mary’s Zable Stadium is getting Field Turf installed this summer. I had trouble finding information on the installation process. The only information I found on the Field Turf site was at the end of this article. Though I did find some more general information on Field Turf. This installation description by Heavenly Greens was the best I have found so far. Installation for a field seems more complex then a putting green. I am still not sure what the purpose was for the big rolls of black stuff seen in my last post. It would appear that the Zable installation is nearing the end of the “geotextile weed block” phase. |
Zable’s field installation once again was mentioned by the Alumni Association’s eConnection this month. Our athletics site has an article on the installation as well as a gallery of pictures that I have linked below. Our football team will have another away game on Field Turf when they play Liberty on 2006-10-14. Liberty is also switching to the playing surface.
Here are my pictures thus far for the month of May:

[...] As I previously mentioned here the college upgrade of the field at Zable Stadium was completed on July 11. Below are links to the gallery of pictures of the field and the new goal posts. The athletics department also enhanced the seating chart for the stadium they released earlier this year and added the Zable Stadium Seating View Map where you can click in the general area of your seats and see your view of the field for even more picture goodness.
