Bottle Opener Trifecta

Filed under: Beer & Booze, Links — roclar @ 10:35 pm
Reef BYOB Sandal, Bottle Spy and Phillips Uni remote and opener Here are three somewhat nifty bottle openers. First in the lower left in the image is the Bottle Spy (Gizmodo Referer) which is a $9 opener that keeps a count of its usage. In the lower right is the Phillips Remote (Gizmodo Referer) which for $13 is a univeral remote that also includes a bottle opener. Not sure on US availability, but if you are in Italy, you are set if you want this device. Last, prominently pictured to the left are the BYOB sandals made by Reef (Boing-Boing Referer) that I believe I have heard thejiggse mention around the office. These sandals have a bottle opener built-in so you have one no matter where you are. Just watch your step. The BYOB men’s sandals are availabe from dogfunk.com for $46.

  1. When you are sporting these things it doesn’t matter if you are NOT at the beach. These are the signature, Mick Fanning, surfer-dude’s, fifteen minutes of fame. I’m not a surfer, but you can be more of a hero than a big-wave-riding macho man when you whip off your flip-flop and pop the top off a chilly one for our thirsty damsels-in-distress.

If you ARE going to the beach this summer than you want a pair of these. Even if you’re drinking wine coolers or Mike’s Hard Lemonade instead of beer. (But I would frown on that, but, hey, to each their own.)

As manly as these flops are they are an even bigger party hit with the ladies. They really get excited when, in dawning comprehension, they realize they are viewing the perfect surprise gift for their husbands. How many ladies have given you a pair of beachy, neoprene-lined, converitble Hush Puppies that are always around to help quench your thirst? So even if you are still in Kansas–start trotting. Get a pair of these now, and be a hero all summer. Spread the word, spread the love, pop the tops.

  2. LOL the reviewer at dogfunk.com wrote, “The sole reason I got these was to open beer.” PUN++

I can’t wait to see someone super drunk try to perch on one leg and fall over into a charcoal grill or a bonfire.

  4. [...] Bottle openers have graced these pages before in the past, I even own a pair of Reef Fanning sandals from a Steep and Cheap special. But I don’t really use bottle openers since I don’t usually drink beer. But when they combine a bottle opener with a USB flash drive, that’s still somewhat noteworthy. The Popdrive combines a neon green bottle opener with a 1GB USB flash drive all on a convenient keyring. It measures 3.75″ x 1.5″ x .25″, so it is slightly on the bulky side but thats the price you pay for drink opening and data storage convenience. The Popdrive is available from Sky Mall for $30 or X-Treme Geek also for $30. [...]
