The TribeAthletics.com article about the lights has good image of the field before the turf (even though you have seen it a few times anyway), but I guess we never had the feathers on the field and they didnt see the point in changing it. Besides how dark the turf is, the field is “painted” much the same. While image hunting, I found a couple of Williamsburg Postcard images of the field from 1936 and early 2000. I kind of like the traditional no frills grid-iron look they maintained without all the clutter some other I-A and pro fields have, though I wouldn’t have minded feather flags flying all around the top of the stadium.

That would be an interesting business venture, Tommy. There are a good number of season ticket holders that wear head bands with green and yellow feathers or have them somewhere on their person at the games.

I think I’ll stand outside before games and sell big-ass feathers at a huge profit.
