I have never managed to get into a fantasy sports league, but what about fantasy congress? As of Spring of this year, there has been a site dedicated to just this very purpose. You can draft members of the US Congress to your “team”, including Mr. Series of Tubes himself (who earned the lastest 120 points in the league conveniently enough) and earn points for the pieces of legislation they get passed various points of the legislative process. I am not sure I could handle paying close enough attention to the workings of my government to be any good at this, but its still an interesting idea. |
I will probably start a league up as soon as Fantasy Congress updates their site for the 110th. Lemme know if you want in. Norman’s first response when I mentioned the Fantasy Congress concept: “Do I get to sleep with interns?!” Sadly, its looking like fantasy scandals are off the table unless a congressperson on your team gets forced out of office as a result of one. Seems unfair that they get all of the benefit while we only get the penalties, but thems the breaks.
