Nintendo Mario's Cement Factory Before the rise of the handheld game consoles that took off with Nintendo’s release of the Gameboy in 1989, there were the handheld electronic games. Each of these featured usually one game which allowed all of the controls and the screen to suit its play. Pictured to the left is Mario’s Cement Factory which was made by Nintendo in 1983. These devices are still made today. Willy Wonka recently recently released their WonkaZoid (Engadget Referer) handheld game/candy dispensers.
