Slam-A-Gavel

Filed under: Links, Office Warfare — roclar @ 5:50 pm
Slam-A-Gavel I like hammers, even though I don’t use them much these days, and I don’t have a problem with wooden block, I used to play with them when I was a little tyke. But I find combining wooden blocks with various phrases silk screened on them and then pounding them with a gavel a bit over the top. This summarizes Slam-A-Gavel rather succinctly. It comes in a 7.25″ x 7.25″ x 2.5″ wooden box with nine wooden cubes each with six potential sources of angst printed on them (this is the full list of the stress words). The box exposes and elevates the center block for you to slam as many times as necessary with the provided gavel. Seems like just a gavel and a smaller wooden block would provide equal stress relief but it seems like the noise might garner some unwanted attention. Must be why those squeezy balls are more popular for stress relief. In any event you can buy Slam-A-Gavel from their store front for $35.

Superfly Monkey

Filed under: Links, Office Warfare, Pets & Animals — roclar @ 6:00 pm
Superfly Monkey A few weeks ago, Tommy was skilled enough to acquire three Superfly Monkeys during a Woot-Off and was kind enough to give one to me. During the last Woot-Off the screaming flying monkey was only available for two and a half minutes and featured a snazzy black leatherette cape with the Woot slogan and logo. Here is a picture of the black caped flying monkey from somebody’s resulting eBay auction for a closer look. I had never even heard of the Superfly Monkey before, but I have had quite a bit of fun with it at both the office and at home. My cats are particularly bewildered by it. They usually freeze while its in the air and then Kiwi usually walks over to check it out if its convenient. Should you be unable to score these fun little guys from Woot, you can get them from Amazon, X-Tremegeek or a variety of other vendors for about $10 each or less if you buy multiple monkeys.

Automatic Cube Weapon Target

Filed under: Links, Office Warfare — roclar @ 8:00 am
Automatic Cube Weapon Target If you have been loading up on office warfare devices, it might be time to work on your aim. You wouldn’t want to put a co-worker’s eye out, right? Or you are one of the lucky bastards few who gets to work from home, maybe its time to leave the dogs and/or cats alone. In either case, the Automatic Cube Weapon Target will allow you to play with most of your fun office arsenal (Think Geek has a matrix of some weapons which will and will not knock down the targets) while working on your aim. Plus it includes a handy mesh trap for collecting your ammo for later use and with two AA batteries (not included) it automatically resets the targets. Both Think Geek and TechEBlog link to a video of this target in action. The Automatic Cube Weapon Target is available from Think Geek (linked below) for $10.

Chuck-A-Duck

Filed under: Links, Office Warfare, Pets & Animals — roclar @ 8:00 am
Zebra Devil Duckie The ever expanding concept of the rubber ducky keeps expanding. Here alone, I have covered some pretty bizarre permutations of Duck Fadar and the Floating Duck Radio. Archie McPhee carries a whole line of Devil Duckies including the Zebra Devil Duckie which can be purchased in a set of two for $9. Of more interest for those involved in intra-office combat though is the Chuck-A-Duck. This nearly 6″ “plastic shooting device” hurls the 1/2″ devil duckie ammunition through the air. I can’t imagine these little guys fly very straight judging by how aerodynamic they look. The Chuck-A-Duck is available from Archie McPhee with woefully only five minature ducks of doom for $5. Extra ammunition is available in the form of the Tub O’ Mini Devil Duckies for $35. The site fails to mention how much extra ammo you get with the tub or how fast you can expect to be able to reload the launcher, so you will have to rely on field testing for your office battles.

Rubberband Gattling Gun

Filed under: Destruction, Links, Office Warfare — roclar @ 2:39 pm
rubberband gattling gun While I am aware that this has probably been around for a long time, it showed up on digg and OhGizmo! on the same day. If you are looking for a serious edge in your office arms race, look no further. This rubber band machine gun fires 144 rubberbands “as fast as you can turn the handle” and is moddled off of the Gatling Gun. Buying this will cost you $400 or you can buy the plans and all the custom patented parts for $30.

fire in the hole! Now you can take cube battles to an all new level! This would be great to plan remote launches while out of the office for a meeting. :D

Sonic Grenade I am so glad something like this had not been invented when I was younger. Being woken up with cold marbles was bad enough…
