Casio Calculator Watch In Purty Colors

Filed under: Links, Time Keeping Devices — roclar @ 6:00 pm
Casio DBC32 3B green and 9B orange Remember the old school calculator watches from back in the 80s? If you need a refresher, PocketCalculatorShow.com has a Nerd Watch Museum for your perusal. Casio has recently added color to their pocket calculators in its Databank 32 series. The watch itself features a eight digit calculator and a stopwatch accurate to 1/100th of a second. It is powered by a CR2025 battery. Pictured are the neon green and orange models which retail for $59. There is also a black version which is more expensive in keeping with Apple’s Mac Book tradition costing $70. All three models are available at Casio’s MyCasio Online Shopping.

Time Mug

Filed under: Kitchenware & Utensils, Links, Time Keeping Devices — roclar @ 6:00 pm
Time Mug Time pieces are cropping up everywhere these days. I haven’t worn a watch in years since I can always rely on my cell phone to keep accurate time. Even drinkware is sporting the time these days. The Time Mug is taglined as “the world’s first 100% dishwasher safe time-telling drinkware” which means they took the rather traditional warm beverage mug and added an analog clock that is water proof. The mug holds 16 oz. and sports a stainless steel interior which seemed to do better in DrFaulken’s Insulated Mug Shoot Out. The Time Mug is available in eighteen different colors with four different analog clocks some of which have rhinestones ranging in price from $25 to $30 directly from TimeMug LLC’s web site.

Analog Projection Clock

Filed under: Links, Time Keeping Devices — roclar @ 6:00 pm
Analog Projection Clock I haven’t posted a time keeping device in a while, so here you go. The Projection Clock from Plow & Hearth eschews projecting boring digital numbers and instead projects an analog clock face complete with Roman numerals, hour, minute and even a second hand. At a distance of ten feet, the projected clock face has a diameter of three feet. The Projection Clock is powered by one AA battery (included) and sells for $100 but is presently on sale for $48.

Wall-Mounted Digital Scale and Clock

Filed under: Kitchenware & Utensils, Links, Time Keeping Devices — roclar @ 6:00 pm
Wall-Mounted Digital Scale and Clock The Wall-Mounted Digital Scale and Clock consists of two pieces. The scale portion is controlled by a touchscreen, can weigh up to seven pounds and transmits the data wirelessly via infrared to the wall-mounted piece. The wall-mounted piece then displays the resulting weight in either metric or imperial. It can also function as a clock as well as a thermometer in addition it can also hold the scale portion which slides over the clock and locks into place. The Wall-Mounted Digital Scale and Clock requires a total of seven AAA batteries which are included and is available from Hammacher Schlemmer for $90. Given the amount of time I spend doing things in the kitchen, I don’t fully understand the need for a kitchen scale. That being said, this combo unit doesn’t seem to be priced that out of line compared to the other scales Salter makes.

The Decider

Filed under: Links, Time Keeping Devices — roclar @ 6:00 pm
The Decider The Decider is a curious watch from Mr. Jones Watches. Like all analog watches, its has the typical hour, minute and second hands with the customary winding wheel. But also every second the watch provides the answer yes or no in alternating fashion. I am not in the habit of posing questions to my time pieces (nor would they answer, I hope) and I am not sure I would want to pin my decision making process on whether I went looking for decision from them on an odd or even second. Still, the black and red on the watch face with the matching red and black on the watch straps are attractive. Mr. Jones Watches only produced 100 The Decider watches and they sell the individually numbered watches on their web site for $161. For the same price, they sell four other limited run watches, The Accurate, The Mantra, Right or Wrong and More or Less which display other words or imagery on the watch face.

Wiggle Wiggle Clock Designed by Chris Koens of Invotis Orange, the Wiggle Wiggle Clock is a simple analog time piece that rocks back and forth. XiMax Dot Matrix Watch

Filed under: Links, Time Keeping Devices — roclar @ 5:40 pm
XiMax Dot Matrix Watch Unlike some of the LED watches that have graced the pages of roclar.net, the XiMax Dot Matrix Watch features a unique trait: its actually easy to read the time. The watch, like most LED watches, is not illuminated until you press a button. Then you are greeted with a very short animation followed by the time for about five seconds and then another very short animation. Other then that, the watch is pretty standard, capable of displaying in 12 or 24 hour time and the date. You can buy the XiMax Dot Matrix watch from Think Geek for $40.

Puhlmann Nixie Clock

Filed under: Links, Time Keeping Devices — roclar @ 5:40 pm
Puhlmann Nixie Clock I do chuckle every time I see another Nixie time piece. Good to see that fifty year old technology still has a place and understandably so since Nixie tubes just plain look cool. The Puhmlmann version of the clock measures 12.7″ x 6.2″ and is made out of brushed-steel. Power is proved by an included adapter. The Puhlmann Nixie Clock is available for $340.
