Filed under: Links, Time Keeping Devices — roclar @ 5:50 pm
Batman Collapsible Desk Clock The Batman Collapsible Desk Clock is a product from the Noble Collection. When extended, it reveals a simple time piece in the shape of a triangle with only an hour and minute hand. When closed, it measures four inches in length and reveals the classic Batman logo. There is no word on what form of power the clock runs on. The Batman Collapsible Desk Clock is available directly from the Noble Collection’s web site with a September 30 ship date at a cost of $45.

Zarafina Tea Maker

Filed under: Kitchenware & Utensils, Links — roclar @ 6:00 pm
Zarafina Tea Maker Suite When ever I see an all in one tea maker for hot tea, I like to see how well its specifications stack up with Tommy’s guide on How To Make Tea. This machine actually seems to fair relatively well. It heats the water you add varying the temperature in accordance with the type of tea you are brewing though I am not sure how well the dual plastic walls hold in the heat. The Zarafina Tea Maker does utilize an infuser, but it allows the tea leaves access to most of the water which is better then most all in one pots. There is also three settings of weak, normal and strong which affect the brew time for the various tea types. The included pots and two cups look relatively nondescript and the cups don’t include handles. The most limiting factor on the Zarafina Tea Maker is the price. It is available from Amazone for $149.

Coffee Related Trifecta

Filed under: Kitchenware & Utensils, Links — roclar @ 5:50 pm
RSVP Scoop N Clip Here are three coffee related items I found relatively interesting. First up are the STOK Black Coffee Shots which allow you to add a shot of either straight or sweet coffee to whatever you are drinking to give it an added kick (bb Gadgets Referer). The shots are sold 50 for $14, 100 for $25 or 200 for $40 and there are some reports of these shots showing up next to traditional creamers in some convenience stores. Next up, it appears that Starbucks is Coming to Tassimo and offering four of their traditional blends: House Blend, Breakfast Blend, Caffe Verona and Africa Kitamu in single serving coffee game. (Gizmodo Referer) No word on price as of yet, but they should start showing up around December. I would think that the single serving market would conflict with the plethora of Starbucks store fronts, but I guess its equally as likely with their weight within coffee circles they might as well be making money in that market as well. Finally we have the Scoop n’ Clip by RSVP International which is a tablespoon with a handle that doubles as a bag clip in order to keep your coffee or tea nice and fresh. The Scoop ‘n Clip sells for $7 from Zaccardi’s linke below.

MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse

Filed under: Computer Related, Links, USB — roclar @ 6:00 pm
MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse The MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse from Logitech aspires to proved mouse pointer manipulation well in both 2D and 3D. When used on the desk, the mouse acts like most laser input devices. When lifted from the desk, it uses gyroscopic sensors allowing you to control the mouse in the air. This mouse is clearly aimed at media center PC setups given the bevy of buttons it has. The mouse has a small USB dongle which allows for a range of about thirty feet. The mouse only works in Windows XP or Vista. The Logitech MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse is available directly from Amazon for $150.

Slam-A-Gavel

Filed under: Links, Office Warfare — roclar @ 5:50 pm
Slam-A-Gavel I like hammers, even though I don’t use them much these days, and I don’t have a problem with wooden block, I used to play with them when I was a little tyke. But I find combining wooden blocks with various phrases silk screened on them and then pounding them with a gavel a bit over the top. This summarizes Slam-A-Gavel rather succinctly. It comes in a 7.25″ x 7.25″ x 2.5″ wooden box with nine wooden cubes each with six potential sources of angst printed on them (this is the full list of the stress words). The box exposes and elevates the center block for you to slam as many times as necessary with the provided gavel. Seems like just a gavel and a smaller wooden block would provide equal stress relief but it seems like the noise might garner some unwanted attention. Must be why those squeezy balls are more popular for stress relief. In any event you can buy Slam-A-Gavel from their store front for $35.

Trey Chair

Filed under: Links, Other Furnishings — roclar @ 6:00 pm
Trey Chair A few weeks ago, Ars Technica had a review of an interesting chair called the Trey Chair which also included an interview with the chair’s creator Jeff Jameson. Like all Ars Technica reviews, it is pretty good and the interview was a pleasant bonus. The chair itself is rather interesting. It was designed for college dorm rooms, and having been a resident of said rooms for four years, I can certainly appreciate the positive points of its design for use in confined living spaces. As you can see in the picture, the seat portion separates from the base which can then be used to hold a laptop, food and drinks, feet or even be used as another seat. With the two parts together, it passes as a normal office chair. The Trey Chair is available directly from the manufacturer in standard fabric colors of black, black marble, billiard, espresso, indigo, and maroon for $239; faux leather in black, gunmetal, lake, and crimson for $269; and in premium fabrics drizzle and wink for $299.
